The basis to our approach to counselling is client oriented. You are the expert in YOU. The counsellor is just an observer walking alongside. Rather than looking at this as a relationship between a professional and layman, we prefer to view it in terms of a collaborative partnership. Two people working together to restore what was lost.
We draw from a number of theoretical frameworks in order to best suit the current needs of each individual client. Some of these theories we draw from include attachment theory, object relations, and existentialism.
Some of the tools we may or may not use include but are not limited to gestalt therapy, play therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), and Observed and Experiential Integration (OEI).
Counselling for all walks of life
Although trauma can be frightening, it doesn’t have to be. It’s easy to believe that it’s a hopeless situation, however help is available. At Phoenix Soars, we understand the delicate nature of working with people who have experienced traumatic events. Using innovative process therapies interspersed with lighthearted humour, we allow you to heal in a safe and gentle manner.
Phobias shouldn’t be something that stops you from living! But more often than not, phobias can cripple us and prevent us from fully enjoying all life has to offer. We have a unique approach to working with Phobias at Phoenix Soars: using a special virtual reality kit! This modern technology paired with traditional process therapies allows us to provide you with a highly-effective way of overcoming those fears – so you can experience your dreams as they were meant to be!
The secret of freedom is courage.”
